PSTL: What is LOVE? | Part 2

alvinwong:

Sometimes a stranger will somehow in some way make your day without knowing they did so themselves. Have anyone ever had that happened to them before?

What this lady wrote on that piece of paper on that day, I didn’t even notice it until I came home and edit it. She almost lost her partner and the LOVE of Doctors and Nurses saved him and cared for him. She is forever thankful and great-full to those who worked at Austin Hospital.

PSTL: What is “LOVE” ? | Part 1

alvinwong:

PSTL. Project Share The Love. Yup. It sounds like just what it is. A project that a few of us got together and decided to do. Do what you say? Share the Love of cause! So a couple of weeks ago, on ANZ Day here in Melbourne, we decided we’ll give out FREE Chocolates up in front of the State Library.

The idea was to take to the streets the question, “What is LOVE?”

What is love? - Part 2

So here are the remaining photos of people on the streets sharing their personal definition of ‘love’ with the rest of the world.

It’s amazing how ‘love’ unites us all, no matter the age, ethnicity, gender or background. ‘Love’ is something so simple yet simultaneously complex, and you can only truly understand what it means if you have received it.

What is love? - Part 1

So on the 26th of April 2010 (Anzac Monday), the PSTL team, together with the help of a few other amazing people, stood at the pavement in front of the State Library in Melbourne to hand out free Cadbury chocolates to people passing by.

At the same time, we approached people to find out their definition of ‘love’. Armed with a piece of coloured paper and a marker in their hands, they began to crack their brains to come up with their definition of ‘love’.

And in one afternoon, eyes were opened as people began to realise what ‘love’ truly means. Check out the photos below to find out what the people of Melbourne perceive ‘love’ to be.

Next outing: Anzac Monday 26th April 2010

We’re heading out again to share some love to the people on the streets. It feels like we’ve been on a long, long hiatus - we’ve simply needed some time to rest and restructure.

So here’s what we’re going to do. We’re gonna be handing out Cadbury chocolates (Milk, White and Strawberry chocolate Freddo’s, Crunchie, Caramel Koalas and Boost) in hopes that these little sweet treats would bring some delight and blessings into people’s day and touch their hearts - let them know how much they are loved!

In addition, we’re going to be asking people to write down their definition of ‘love’ on a piece of paper and capture a photo of it, to show the rest of the world what people here perceive ‘love’ to be.

It’s that simple. If you’re in the city, just pop by and we’ll guarantee you some love.

Anzac Monday - 26th April 2010.

2.00pm - 4.00pm

State Library (opposite Melbourne Central, corner of Swanston & La Trobe streets)

If you have any queries or you’d like to come help us out with this outing, don’t hesitate to let us know! Also, if you can’t make it during then and would like to share with us what ‘love’ means to you, send us an e-mail at projectsharethelove@gmail.com. We’d love to hear from all of you!

Have a lovely Anzac weekend and may love surround you in every form.

With much love,

PSTL Team.

Love Balloons - Part 3

So here are the remaining photos of people from the streets who were impacted from the Love Balloon outing about 2 months ago.

We sincerely hope and believe that these balloons will continue to bring joy, peace, blessing, favour, and most importantly, love, to these people’s lives.

Love Balloons - Part Two

So on the 26th of February 2010, a few of us had headed into the heart of the city, at the State Library opposite Melbourne Central, to paint the town red and spread the notion of love.

As we were giving out balloons, we could instantly see the faces of many light up in joy and excitement. Our hopes are that these balloons, as menial as they were, had touched the hearts of many, and that their joy and love became infectious towards others.

Love Balloons - Part One

So yesterday, we hired a mini helium tank, bought some red balloons & strings, and started our operation in the humble space of an apartment. With teamwork and some willpower, we began inflating and tying the balloons, writing love phrases on them, and before our eyes, over 60 red balloons clouded the ceiling of the apartment.
